PCE launches new portable repeater

Premier Communication Electronics (PCE) showcased a new product at the recent Emergency Services Show 2014.

The Emergency Services Show is the UK’s leading annual event for all emergency responders and personnel. It was held at the NEC in Birmingham last week.

PCE took the opportunity to launch the RD965 – Hytera’s first digital/analogue portable repeater that is compatible with the DMR standard.

Compact and embedded with a mini duplexer, the device is more versatile than its competitors and can be used as both a repeater and a base radio for simultaneous inbound and outbound radio communication.

It supports a range of power supply plans to guarantee uninterrupted communications during emergencies and provides water protection to IP67 standards to make it reliable in any hostile operating environment.

Benefits in brief:

  1. Slim and portable – Based on a compact design, the device measures only 41mm and weighs less than 3kg. This plug ‘n’ play unit can be easily deployed by a single person and transported to the most advantageous location to ensure maximum signal propagation

  2. IP67 protection – Operates in the most hostile environments – all weathers and from any outdoor location – and can be temporarily immersed in 1m of water for up to 30 minutes

  3. Flexible power – Supports adaptable power supplies, including 12V car sockets and 240V plugs

  4. External battery – Delivers an extended battery life of 8-10 hours to guarantee uninterrupted communication when you need it most

  5. Dual transmission – Can transmit and receive at the same time as a fixed base radio or a repeater re-broadcasting

PCE’s National Account Manager Stephen Smith said: “The beauty of this repeater is that it is so portable and so resilient, even in the most challenging locations and weather conditions.”
